When not on the sofa...

 I finished a jacket (Vogue 2911) that I had cut out several years ago. Don't know where I will ever wear it though - is anyone getting married soon? It is made in a boiled wool so please make it a winter wedding. When cutting out the pattern, I added a bit of length in the waist, but I don't think I needed to. The peplum sits a bit low. Still, with the right skirt, it might be wearable.

 I also finished a useful thing to hang by the sewing station. This uses one of my "antique batik" (hmmm, really?) pieces that I bought in Solo years ago.

This next photo is just to show that we are having lovely spring days.

 

The chooks have been scratching in the neighbour's border, here is Madge trying to escape being put back into the coop. 

Finally today, this is the latest hat I made at work. It is in Zara Plus, a lovely soft yarn to work with.

What to do with empty plastic bags?

Friday was for fun-with-feijoas, and clearing up the autumn leaves. Pottering in the garden inpired my choice of fabric for this bag.

Fueled by slices of feijoa and coconut cake, I made lots of jars of Feijoa Chutney made from Digby Law's recipe which is on the feijoafeijoa website. This chutney needs to mature a bit. I added a green chilli so I hope it will have a good bite.

I made a bag to hold those plastic bags that I never have enough of these days. It hangs of the back of the pantry door and sits flat. The fabric is from a very long kimono style robe I got years ago in Singapore. I think now the robe is shorter I might actually use it, so that is a bonus.

Homework

Two creative things for Friday - I made a knife holder to hang in a convenient spot in the kitchen.

And then I made a rustic outdoor table for my patio. It cost me $14 for the 4x2 for the legs. I can sit out there looking at the lake and fell like a millionaire. A scavanging and foraging millionaire.
